What is a Veterinary Chiropractor / Animal Chiropractor?
Veterinary Chiropractic draws on a background of veterinary medicine and human chiropractic which, while it has some ties to both professions, is unique and has recognition as a healthcare system in itself. The developers of the profession took techniques and functional theories form the human chiropractic profession and merged these with the science and tradition of the veterinary profession. Veterinary Chiropractic is performed by professionals who are already vets or chiropractors (or both) who have undergone thorough further training and examination, have full insurance and are recognised by a reputable association such as the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association.
In line with the Veterinary Act, any therapist working on your horse or dog must by law consult or have permission from your veterinarian. This is in place to protect your animal and ensure that he receives the highest level of care possible. Jo has a good working relationship with many veterinary practices in the area and is happy to discuss treatment with your vet before working on your animal.
